Julio Godreau is an outstanding, much awarded and recognized Tennis Professional who for 20+ years, has been an extremely successful Tennis Coach, Trainer, Teacher, and Speaker possessing superior customer service skills as well. Currently, he is Director of The Mississippi Tennis Academy www.MississippiTennisAcademy.com, Parham Bridges Tennis Center; Head Coach USTA Competitive Training Center, Mississippi; and Coach USTA Southern Talent Identification Camps.
Certified United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) and United States Tennis Association High Performance (USTA), he also earned Masters in Tennis Coaching from PTR which is recognized by the US Olympic Committee. Julio is bilingual, English and Spanish, and also holds Masters Degree in Business Administration from American Intercontinental University, and undergraduate degree in psychology.
As a Specialist, he is USPTA Certified Professional Level 1, Player Development Specialist; PTR Certified Professional Level, Player Development Specialist; also, USTA High Performance Certified, Player Development, Quickstart Certified and USTA Referee, Tournament Director Certification (TDM).
Awards are numerous, including: USPTA Alan Henry Southern Pro of the Year USPTA 2007 (Top Pro in 9 States GA, NC, SC, TN, AL, LA, MS, AK, KY), USPTA Southern 10 & Under Pro of the Year 2012; USPTA Mississippi Pro of the Year 2012, 2007, & 2006; USTA Southern Pro of the Year 2008 (Top Pro in 9 States); and USTA Mississippi Pro of the Year 2008.
Godreau has supervised a staff of 12, including pros and other personnel. He has been a highly successful teaching pro at a prestigious tennis country club, where he created and implemented a Marketing & Operational structure that surpassed Annual Quotas by 80%. Extremely succesful in the tennis industry as a result of his exceptional customer service, he is very involved with USTA, USPTA, and PTR continuing education to assure quality of product.
He is comfortable teaching large or small groups of adults or children in single or multiple courts as well as instructing and coaching privately all segments of the Tennis Industry.
Further, he is expert in bio-mechanical Video Analysis of mechanics of Tennis strokes.
An in-demand Speaker at USPTA World Conference 2013, USPTA Southern Conference 2009 through 2013 and PTR International Symposium 2012, he has also served as Chairman USTA Southern 10 & Under Growth Committee 2013 & 2014 and Vice Chairman, USTA Southern Player Development Committee 2013 & 2014.
His professional playing recognition includes Top Junior Player in the Caribbean and NCAA Division I Scholarship Collegiate Player (Duquesne University), and among his coaching highlights, he has developed players to achieve rankings as high as #5 in the US, for 2013: Mathis Billman & Juliette Finch, both ranked #1 in USTA Southern Section Boy’s & Girl’s 10 & Under; Carlin Murray, played #1 for Lousiana Lafayette and got ranked as high as #125 in singles and his team to #47 in the country; and from 2004 to present, Ellie Yates, currently attending and playing for University of Southern California (USC), and her team, ranked #5 in the nation.
Julio serves on the National Advisory Staff for Adidas and Prince.
