She has two children -- Austin, beginning his post-secondary to study health sciences, his goal to positively change lives by helping others to balance mind, body, and soul; and Monica, finishing grade 12, with plans to study corporate law at the U of A in Edmonton Alberta.
Candis enjoys team sports, volleyball, curling and participates in adult groups throughout the winter. An avid golfer, she finds the course a place to not only play golf, but further solidify friendships. She is also passionate about writing and becoming a published author.
She has also ably served as Chair for the Occupational Health & Safety Committee.
Based primarily in Edmonton, AB throughout her accomplished career, most recently, General Manager, Sandman Hotel Group, 149-room property and subsequently the 200 room Signature property. Prior, Director of Operations, The Coast Edmonton House, 304-room full service property.
Her management skills brought the Best Western hotels to incredible success, as Food & Beverage Manager for their Cedar Park Inn and Front Office Manager for the Westwood Inn. Her earlier Sales Management for corporate room and convention sales, Executive Royal Inn West and Sales Representative for fire safety products with Simplex Grinnell/Tyco International.
She has attended the University of Alberta, advancing toward BA English, and participated in numerous training courses and seminars through Best Western and Coast Hotels.
